Where Can You Use Your Social Security for Dental Services?

You can use your Social Security dental benefits at participating government hospitals, private hospitals, and dental clinics that are part of the Social Security Office (SSO) program. These facilities often display a sign or sticker indicating: “This facility provides dental services to insured persons without advance payment.”

Insured persons can check their eligibility and find a list of participating hospitals and clinics through the official SSO Connect website or application.

Documents Required for Dental Reimbursement Claims

For cases where you need to pay in advance and claim reimbursement later (such as for dentures or certain root canal treatments), you must prepare the following documents:

• The official Dental Benefit Claim Form (SPS. 2-16).
• A medical certificate from the dentist who performed the treatment.
• The original, itemized receipt clearly stating the treatments and costs.
• A copy of your Thai ID card or other valid government-issued ID.
• A copy of the medical records from the treating dentist (required for claims involving acrylic base dentures).
• A copy of the first page of your savings account passbook (if you wish to receive the reimbursement via bank transfer).

How to Check Your Dental Benefits Online

You can easily check your Social Security dental benefits using the SSO Connect application.

Simply download the app, register your account, and log in. The system will display your remaining dental benefit balance for the current year. For more information, you can navigate to the “Dental Treatment Costs” menu to view your service history and benefit details.

Alternatively, you can also check your benefits through the official Social Security Office website or by calling their 24-hour hotline at 1506. Regularly checking your benefits will help you plan your dental treatments effectively and make full use of your entitlements.

• Can I use Social Security for teeth scaling? Yes. Insured persons under sections 33 and 39, who have contributed for at least 3 months, can use their Social Security benefit for teeth scaling within the 900 THB annual limit. At participating clinics like XDC, you do not need to pay in advance.
• What do I need to do to use my benefit? Simply book an appointment at a participating clinic and bring your valid Thai ID card with you on the day of your visit. The clinic will handle the rest.
• Can I still use the dental benefit after resigning from my job? Yes. Your dental coverage continues for 6 months after your resignation date, provided you were eligible before leaving your job. Be sure to use your benefit within this period.
